Mozart: Rise of a Genius

At 21, Mozart leaves his court musician position in Salzburg for Mannheim and Paris to pursue composing. Despite a promising commission, his mother's death and difficult father test his resolve to succeed.

In 1781 Vienna, 25-year-old Mozart finds comfort with the Webers and falls for Constanze. Despite his father's opposition, they marry, have a child, and achieve success. His opera The Marriage of Figaro later upsets his elite supporters.

After his father's death, Mozart's music grows more intense. Don Giovanni proves too dramatic for Vienna. The Austro-Turkish War disrupts music patronage, leaving Mozart struggling to support his family amid aristocratic cutbacks.
