Amadeus

Court composer Antonio Salieri is shaken: In 1781, the brilliant free spirit Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart comes to Vienna and competes with him. Salieri decides to destroy him.

Mozart is in conflict with his father, who disapproves of his son's marriage to the commoner Constanze. Meanwhile, Salieri is despairing over his own mediocrity.

Mozart struggles for recognition in Vienna, while Salieri schemes and tries to prevent the premiere of "The Marriage of Figaro." Constanze meets the music teacher Franz.

Mozart falls into financial trouble, loses his last pupil, and moves with his family to the outskirts of the city. After his father's death, Mozart processes his feelings in "Don Giovanni."

Salieri relentlessly pressures the sick Mozart to complete the Requiem he commissioned. Meanwhile, the performances of 'The Magic Flute' are enjoying great success.
