After surgery, Alice learns she’s free of her cervical cancer, but can barely process the good news before she’s dumped by Matt. With no job or a place to live, Alice must leave London with her tail between her legs and move back home to Stockholm.

At her first post-op smear in Sweden, Alice leaves more stressed than when she came in. Is this the what the rest of her life will be like? Constantly worrying about recurrence and anxiously awaiting test results every six weeks?

After finding out about Matt’s new girlfriend, Alice wants to show she’s moved on, too. But disease has changed her body, and her mum Maria’s advice on how to handle ageing anxiety isn’t helping. Before Alice can even think about dating again, she needs to find out whether her punani is really too short or not.

After her failed attempt to have sex, Alice turns to the internet, to find potential hook-ups, but also to find people who have been through similar issues. She comes across some worrying information on what sex after cancer might look like.

Alice has some soul-searching to do. Whereas others seem to become better people after surviving cancer, Alice feels she’s become the opposite: the absolute worst.
