Coast Guard officer Sanna Tanner and her colleague Joonas Kapanen are trying to carry out a rescue operation on a stranded icebreaker.
Sanna does not give up and tries to find out where the missing chief engineer is. In the meantime, the crew is trying to find a way to free the ship stuck in the ice.
The night is pitch-dark and stretches on almost endlessly. A crew member accidentally shoots a colleague. Two crew members have suddenly disappeared.
The crew tries to repair the icebreaker's engine, but this has devastating consequences. The crew members are repeatedly attacked. With no other choice, they have to evacuate across the ice.
The survivors camp at Kokkokallio. To Sanna's horror, she sees something that shouldn't be possible. Sanna realizes that she is connected to the events on the icebreaker.
