WWII Battles in Color

In their blitzkrieg against France, the Nazi forces achieve extraordinary military success. The German Wehrmacht succeeds in taking control of the country in just six weeks.

The largest and cruelest campaign in history: Under the code name "Barbarossa", on June 22, 1941, some three million German soldiers embark on a bloody war of aggression against the Soviet Union.

In 1942, Nazi troops under commander Erwin Rommel reach Egypt. A battle in the desert of North Africa is imminent, as their objective Cairo is defended by British forces.

The advance of German troops stalls in 1943. Hitler, however, is convinced that he can continue the triumphant march with new war equipment. His first target: the Soviet city of Kursk.

With great confidence, the Allies advance across Belgium to the German border in the fall of 1944. In the Ardennes, however, Hitler's forces were already waiting for a final bloody counteroffensive.
