Secret Life Of The Wombat

Distant cousins of koalas, wombats lead a calm lives in the woods of southeast Australia. They sleep the day away in expertly dug burrows, emerging at night (backwards, in case of predators) to forage for their tough plants-and-roots diet.

For wombats, the mating season is a departure from the solitary lives they tend to favor. While often slow and lumbering, they can be surprisingly energetic when it's time for courtship, including taking part in a ritualized chase!
